New Year’s Resolutions and Weddings
Just like that, another year has come to a close.
Like many, I love to look at the new year as an opportunity to set goals and reflect on who I want to be this year. One of my resolutions was to pick up our Greysolon blog, and hi everyone! I’m doing it! I’m filled with excitement and am setting intentions for what I want my 2026 to look like and am inviting you all to join me. Ahead of us is a year of unforgettable memories, belly laughs and for some of you… a new chapter in your relationship… getting married!
A new year offers a natural pause – a chance to set intention and plan with purpose. Designing your wedding with clear intention can shape what that day is going to look like and the time leading up to it. Together, we are going to talk through creating a thoughtful wedding prep timeline, ways to strengthen your relationship, and how to care for yourself as you go on the beautiful journey 2026 has in store.

Since we live, breathe, eat and sleep all things ‘weddings’ at Greysolon, I’m going to start with the easy one, because trust me, it can be easy! I know mapping out the route to your dream wedding can be a daunting task. So, I’d like to help you. Let’s make that timeline!
When creating a timeline, it is so important to be realistic about what you are able to achieve. If you feel confident that time (and life) allows you to complete a task a day, go for it! However, if you’re maybe the once-a-week kind of person, pick one day and stick to it. When I set my own intentions for the year, I tried my best not to overload myself right off the bat. Inspire yourself to move with this same grace and mindfulness.
Your intention is set, let’s break out that calendar. Mark the big day and fill in the days that you’d like to plan on. If you’re feeling extra motivated, you can even assign what topics you’ll tackle each day. By planning a bit at a time, you’re going to feel ready to go without being bogged down or overwhelmed. Special note for our Greysolon 2026 couples! Be sure to mark those calendars and RSVP – for our group tasting event called ‘Taste of Greysolon’ Saturday, February 7th, 2026. This is a fantastic opportunity to spark some excitement, bring your fiancé and loved ones to the grand ballroom, and try out our signature menu items.

In addition to those dreamy planning sessions, why don’t you go ahead and mark some romantic date nights! Besides, who doesn’t LOVE a date night. It is so easy to get distracted with the blur and beauty of the holidays, forgetting to invest that same kind of quality time into your relationship that it deserves. Let’s use the new year reset to find our way back.
Do the little things for your partner, surprise them with their favorite snack, or do a face mask spa night after a long day of work. Relive some memories from early days in your relationship and take yourself on a weekend getaway camping trip. Sit down and set a few marriage goals that can build on your current relationship, to prepare yourselves for that big day! It doesn’t have to be expensive or stressful to put a spark into that beautiful love you have. May this be a gentle reminder just to be more present, show up for one another, nurture that relationship and continue to fall in love with the person you’re creating your dream life with.

Now, you didn’t think we were going to make a new year blog post and not mention self-care, did you? You are important and valuable. Treat yourself as such! By creating a healthy foundation within yourself, you can have the energy and emotional capacity to fully enjoy (yes, I said enjoy!) everything that is your wedding.
My goal in writing this is to make your life just a little easier. I’d like to help you build your foundation, providing you with a few self-reflection questions geared towards your own intention and mindfulness:
What kind of person do you want to be on your wedding day? What can you do to ensure that you are who you wish to be? How can you rely on your family, friends and vendors (like our fantastic team at Greysolon) to support you and communicate that to them?
From picking a theme, choosing the perfect flowers, to that first dance, you have the power to place the building blocks to be fully present and relish in it all.
2026 is your year… can you feel it?
Plan that wedding timeline.
Tell your partner you love, appreciate, and want to invest in them.
And show up for you.
… You’ve got this.
Cheers to making 2026 the best year yet!
