Step into a time when opulence meant ornate chandeliers, mahogany walls and hand-painted ceilings. Built in 1925 as the Hotel Duluth, it was widely acclaimed as one of the finest hotels on the continent. Today, Black Woods has restored Greysolon Ballroom to its original splendor, making it a memorable wedding reception and event space.

For a truly spectacular event, the Ballroom features exquisite details, such as hand-painted ceilings and magnificent chandeliers. This historic ballroom has been beautifully restored to create a unique venue for weddings, corporate events, fundraisers and special events in Duluth.

This spacious room is able to accommodate a variety of room arrangements, such as a stage, dance floor, cocktail atmosphere or sit-down dining. Many of our guests hold their wedding ceremony and reception in the Ballroom, as adjacent spaces allow for movement between rooms and a separate bar area for your guests. For weddings, we include the Bridal Suite, creating an elegant oasis for the bridal party.
