You’re Not Too Small For A Big Company Party
Company holiday parties can be a huge morale booster and a way to celebrate in a less formal setting than the office. But for many small companies, planning and running a good holiday party is a daunting and expensive task. So we decided to help out by hosting a big party that companies of any size can enjoy.
“This gives even independent businesses an opportunity to feel that they can celebrate,” marketing and events director Katie Marturano says. “They can use this opportunity to invite lead staff or their most important clients.”
Black Woods often sees holiday bookings, but in the past it’s been larger groups of 50 who could rent out an entire room. With this party, size is no issue.
“We have groups of 2 attending, we have groups of 16 and 12 and 10,” Katie says. “The planners, they don’t have to think about it! They literally get to say ‘here’s your ticket, we’re going at 6 o’clock.’”
At 6, the party kicks off with a social hour and cash bar. Featured holiday cocktails include the Snowflake Martini (vodka, amaretto and cream with a silver glitter sugar rim) and the Silver Bells Martini (UV Blue, lemonade and champagne). Northland Special Events is going to decorate the already beautiful Greysolon Ballroom, so the atmosphere will be as charming as the drinks.
After the first hour, dinner is served.
“It’s going to be the best holiday buffet there is,” Katie says. “When Jax Eisenmann, our sales director at the ballroom and I finished it, we were giddy and we were high-fiving each other with excitment.”
You’ll start with roasted pear salad with bacon and blue cheese, then dig in to the buffet. Main courses of chef carved roast beef and chef carved turkey give way to holiday fixings like sage stuffing, French bean casserole, candied yams, and mashed potatoes. Because it’s already getting cold outside, dessert is a customizable bread pudding station, with caramel sauce, blueberries, whipped cream, and nutmeg to top it.
Afterwards, DJ Corey Bonneville of Sounds Unlimited Entertainment is spinning a playlist of upbeat holiday classics and popular music. He actually inspired us to create this event, so we knew we couldn’t go with anyone else.
After you’ve danced to exhaustion, we’re sending everyone off with a stop at the Hot Cocoa Bar. Our chef makes homemade hot cocoa that you can drink there or build in a cup to go with whipped cream, nutmeg, marshmallow or peppermint.
Tickets are still available at $40 each. So this year, there’s no reason to skip the holiday party just because you’re a smaller company. Let us do the work for you!
“I think that this gives people a reason to celebrate,” Katie says. “Everyone likes to come together at a time of giving.”
