Duluth’s Best Kept Secret
Duluth’s Best Kept Secret.
We are going to flat out spill the beans and let you in on Duluth’s Best Kept Secret- the Hidden Treasure…. the Crown of Downtown… in the Heart of the HART District… a Flash into the Past…
That’s right- the Moorish Room.
The Moorish Room by Black Woods is located just off of what was once Hotel Duluth’s lobby…
Ornate chandeliers, marble fountain, and a stunning gold ceiling.
Now the building is called Greysolon Plaza- and locally owned and operated Black Woods Group are the stewards of such amazing event spaces- both the Ballroom and the Moorish Room.
Are you ready to step inside with us?
And in we go!
During the Hotel Duluth days, this was the hotel’s restaurant- the “Spanish Room”. It’s unique Moorish-styled architecture uses arches, intricate calligraphy, & ornate tile work. We just love how the pillars burst into the ceiling so that no matter what angle you are looking from, there are high arches everywhere.
Not to mention the original murals!
The Moorish Room comes with a getting ready room- The Chambers.
…Has great photo-opportunities all around…
…And is just steps away from Lake Superior!
